BROKEN ARROW HIGH SCHOOL
Need Text - Vision and strong leadership resulted in the completion of this trend setting stadium. The new UCF football stadium was completed in a sixteen-month construction duration at a cost of more than forty percent less than the original estimate. A collaborative design-build team including UCF, Wharton Smith general contractors, 360 Architecture and Dant Clayton, produced a high quality, cost effective design. The objective of building a stadium with unsurpassed design characteristics that generated adequate revenue to pay for itself was realized.
Capacity of the UCF stadium is 45,000 seats and is designed for an expansion to 65,000 seats. A commanding view of the field can be enjoyed from the stadium club room which accommodates the 800 club seat patrons. Twenty-four suites are located on the two floors over the club level.
The stadium has a generous tread depth of 33” in the upper bowl and 30” in the lower bowl to provide for spectator comfort. Horizontal circulation is facilitated with three concrete walkways at the top, center and bottom of the stadium. The principal ground level concourse is a spacious ( ) feet wide. Aesthetics of the structure have been enhanced with a charcoal gray power coated steel frame and a masonry façade. Public safety has been improved by treating all aluminum walking surfaces with a slip resistant surface.
The University of Central Florida has a remarkable balance of a dynamic stadium that provides a wonderful fan experience with superior visual appeal, at a fiscally responsible cost.
