Grandstand Design Features:
• Total bleacher seating capacity: 2,000
• Powder coated structural steel understructure
• Powder coated steel vertical picket guardrail system
• Rear walkway roof structure with fabric covering
• Center VIP section with bleacher chair seating
• Slip resistant aluminum welded deck walking surface
This grandstand had considerable design issues due to the press box being a custom built brick and mortar structure with walking platforms and canopies on either side. Dant Clayton worked with the Architectural & Engineering Services department of the university and a private architectural firm to provide design assistance. Considerable coordination was required between Dant Clayton, the General Contractor and the other trades on site concerning scheduling, staging bleacher components and the installation of the grandstand.
