Grandstand Design Features:
• Total bleacher seating capacity: 4,800
• Two 17 row I-beam grandstands with mid cross aisles
• Slip resistant welded decking
• Powder coated steel vertical picket guardrail system
• Galvanized structural steel
• Anodized bench seating, powder coated risers and closures
Built in the heart of Penn State University’s main campus, this project consisted of two identical elevated I-beam grandstands. Each grandstand also featured an 8’ x 36’ prefabricated press box and understructure. Due to the location on site, this project required daily communication with the Office of the Physical Plant on campus to coordinate adjacent activities and facilitate construction progress.
