Dant Clayton offers project solutions with product solutions. For example, the Citrus Bowl's goal was to upgrade their existing stadium. The project's constraint was the need to maintain the existing seat count, while the physical dimensions of the concrete tread depth, created a nearly impossible situation for existing products. The solution was a new product, the Colosseum-Two seat module. The Colosseum-Two was designed, prototyped, approved by the owners, competitively bid, manufactured and installed within their budget and on time for the bowl game.

 

Role of Dant Clayton in project development:

• Small to moderate scale projects: In this market, Dant Clayton can reduce the amount of time an architect spends on development documents for what is typically standard in the industry. Based on the seating and topographical requirements we can develop plans and CSI format specifications to suit the project.  Many times we have already produced a project which similar in needs to the current project under consideration.  Proposed plans can be approved by the architect and owner, then incorporated into the project contract documents.  Dant Clayton can provide budget information prior to bidding or presenting the project to the owner to avoid misunderstandings after the bid.

• Major projects: The Dant Clayton staff will provide technical assistance to the architect and his consultants throughout the document development process. Our suggestions will be geared toward maximizing the use of our system's components and monitoring the progress of the document preparation to assure the adherence to the budget.

• Code review: With a graduate architect on staff specializing in seating systems, we can provide the architect with our extensive background in dealing with code officials.

• Estimating and budgeting: During the document development process, estimates can be produced to verify or establish budgets.  Our estimating is in house and deals with all nature of projects.  Computerized models and data basics are maintained to assure accurate estimates.

• Project management: Dant Clayton has adopted the philosophy of assigning project managers to projects versus continuing to let sales staff manage the project. The project managers are specialists in construction techniques, means, and methods. They follow the project through the entire schedule to assure it remains on track during design, fabrication and installation. The project manager is responsible for coordinating the project with other trades on the site and scheduling the installation crew to the site.

• Scheduling: Dant Clayton maintains a master schedule for all projects in the system.  When a new project becomes an order, the project is entered into the master schedule and then compared to the specific project schedule.  If any conflicts exist, the appropriate actions to maintain the schedule can be implemented.  A preliminary schedule for a specific project can be prepared for an analysis of the time elements to determine a completion date for the project.
