Dant Clayton is proud to be involved in the renovation of the historic Yost Ice Arena.  The 89-year-old facility is home to the Wolverine Ice Hockey Team, winners of a record nine NCAA titles.  Also originally home to the varsity basketball teams, the iconic arena is currently undergoing a $14 million renovation to upgrade many elements, including seating, press box space, concourse areas, windows, and lighting.

Starting with a new state of the art scoreboard that was installed prior to last season, the current upgrade will give the arena a truly unique mix of modern amenities, architectural creativity, and an exciting atmosphere.  The project architectural consultant, Rossetti of Southfield, Michigan, has delivered a renovation design program that will please Wolverine hockey fans for years to come.

Dant Clayton is currently in fabrication on a new structural seating system, including steel supports, Welded Deck aluminum risers, bench seating, and various egress elements.  Also included in the contract with the university is an entirely new guard railing program, with both picket style and glass rails provided by our partner, Staging Concepts.

Finished material is already being delivered to the building for installation, following a lengthy design, detailing, and fabrication process.  The new construction will fit nicely with the Welded Deck system that was installed by Dant Clayton in a portion of the stadium during the last renovation almost 15 years ago.

Working with an almost century old building provides new and exciting challenges for our company.  We are looking forward to finishing our portion of work in support of the completion of the project in time for the 2012-13 hockey season this fall.
