Dant Clayton has received the award to supply the stadium structure for the expansion of Saputo Stadium, in Montreal, Canada.  The current stadium, home to the Montreal Impact professional soccer team, was originally engineered and fabricated by Dant Clayton back in 2007.  You can check out photos and a list of the stadium’s current highlighted features in our portfolio

The new expansion comes as a result of the team becoming the 19th Major League Soccer franchise, set to begin play in 2012.  Montreal Impact is the third Canadian club in the league, joining Vancouver and Toronto FC.

Expansion plans include the addition of a roof and 7,000 new seats, increasing the stadium’s capacity to 20,000.  Dant Clayton’s portion of the expansion includes the engineering and supply of the primary structural system that will support the new seats, loge boxes, concrete concourse, stair towers, and video screen. Our premium Welded Deck system, Vertical Picket Railing, and Powder Coat steel finish will help to create the unique architectural look of the completed stadium.

Work on the stadium expansion is currently underway, and is scheduled to be completed in June of 2012.  Project partners include Brocollini Construction, Beauce Atlas, Provencher & Roy Architects, and CIMA Structural Engineers.  For more information on the expansion, be sure to visit the Montreal Impact website.
