Dant Clayton employees volunteered for Louisville’s Habitat for Humanity program over the weekend to help build a new home for a local woman.  They participated in the “Raise the Roof” project, consisting of a three day house build that begins with a foundation and ends with a fully framed home, complete with a roof.

Our crew worked on the third day and assisted in making the house rain-proof and secure.  To do so, the Dant team installed all of the plywood sheeting, followed by tar paper and drip edge on the roof.  They also installed foam board on the exterior of the house, weather taped the joints, installed hurricane ties, and put in new windows for the entire home.  A security wall was also added above the front porch to prevent potential break-ins.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that works to provide a decent, safe, and affordable place to live for those who need a "help up, not a hand out." For more information, please visit http://www.hfhlouisville.org/
